Under the leadership of the Director of Respiratory Care, the Associate Director of Respiratory Care Operations provides operational oversite of inpatient and outpatient respiratory care services. Supports the department by functioning as a hiring manager, cost center manager, and leader of department initiatives. Essential Job functions: Operations Leads operational initiatives determined by the respiratory care leadership team. Operational initiatives to include quality improvement projects, guideline/protocol review, and practice changes. Works to ensure respiratory care practices are up to date and evidenced based care is being provided by the respiratory care department. Utilizing the respiratory care process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to recommend, delegate, coordinate and proved safe, therapeutic respiratory care to patients; makes independent judgments/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient issues; collaborates with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the respiratory, medical and nursing plans of care. The first line of support for staff, physicians, and other related providers on concerning RT specific clinical issues and topics. Provide respiratory care to all patients in the Infant ICU, Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU, ED, Medical, Surgical, Hem/Onc and Rehab units.

Working alongside with a trained, experienced respiratory care practitioner and performing a regular assignment of a practitioner with their guidance if needed.

•Coordinate staffing office operations and duties. •Maintain accurate Per Se database and assist in preparation of reports and schedules for each nursing unit. •Develop and prepare accurate license/registration reports. •Ensure all staff maintain licensure according to policy and procedure. •Serve as a Per Se expert user and resource to all users. •Participate in twice daily charge nurse meetings. •Negotiate/interact with charge nurses, nurse managers, nursing supervisors and patient placement coordinators to create and implement appropriate STAFFING for all inpatient units. •Under supervision of the patient placement coordinator/nursing supervisor, interact with charge nurses and nurse managers to place patients throughout the medical center. •Responsible for the admit patients into several databases (CIS, One Staff, Epic, Reg/ADT) and running reports for multiple parties/departments. •Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers from every area of the medical center. •Ensure that the admitting process is thorough and complete with all required elements.

Working on the Trauma Surgery acute care floor where assisting with the medical and nursing staff by performing delegated tasks that involve direct patient care; transportation of patients, supplies and specimens; ordering and stocking of supplies; and maintenance/set up of special equipment. Additionally, the person in this role will participate in unit and selected departmental activities to promote effective problem solving and communication.
