- Monitor and maintain current UI COM policies, procedures and guidelines for fostering a positive learning environment free from student mistreatment, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards (LCME) and best practices;- Promote efforts to meet the Association of American Medical College’s (AAMC) Statement on Learning Environment; - Provide those who experience or witness student mistreatment with access to a neutral, impartial and private resource to report and seek assistance with learning environment and mistreatment concerns;- Serve as a resource to teachers (e.g., faculty, residents, and others in a teaching role), staff and administration in discussing and resolving learning environment concerns; - Educate on and facilitate resolution of reported concerns;- Identify positive and negative influences in the learning environment; develop and recommend appropriate strategies to enhance positive and mitigate any negative influences; - Review COM and AAMC data, materials and best practices to conduct analyses to provide feedback to improve the medical student experience; - Foster relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff at all UI COM campuses to encourage compliance with College policies, procedures and guidelines related to student mistreatment and other learning environment concerns and ensure that campus services are relevant and available to medical students;- Create and maintain educational and informational tools for the campus community, focusing on students and faculty to better understand policies and procedures;- Lead college wide student initiatives by fostering collaboration among the student affairs staffs at the different campuses. Also collaborates with student affairs staff at other health/medical schools; and- Provide policy guidance and expertise.

Teach U.S. history courses on a part-time basis, including the following:- Post-Civil War U.S. History: F08, F18, Sp19, Sp20- American Pluralism: 2004-05, F18, F19, F21- The History of Medicine in the United States: Sp09

- Proactively track at-risk and distressed students- Engage in informal cognitive therapy- Direct peer tutoring program- Aid and counsel students with accommodations- Teach history of medicine, via individual electives, to M4s- Construct and teach workshops on exam strategies, time management, memory, CV construction, USMLE prep, etc. - Utilize a developmental, evidence-based advising philosophy - Coach and support medical students in prep for course exams and boards (Steps 1-3)- Support faculty and deans in committees (e.g. Student Progress, Competency, Clerkships)- Utilized Sakai (LMS) and Peoplesoft

- Conducted one-on-one tutoring sessions (history, English, study skills)- Acted as embedded tutor in history courses- Lead creation of professional development seminars for tutoring team- Assisted with updating and revision of student success seminar series- Analyzed policies and procedures for tutors- Status: part-time

Lead adult education seminars, on a part-time basis, covering U.S. intellectual life, education, philosophy, culture, Chicago, and Illinois. - Advised over 600 graduate students in five programs (each w/3-8 specializations)- Led planning & coordination of academic conference (120 attendance & $40,000 budget)- Researched for Student Services on retention/persistence strategies- Counseled students on career choices and job hunting- Troubleshot policy and procedures for my programs to smooth student experience- Wrote and researched on the history of the School of Professional Studies- Utilized Canvas (LMS), Hobsons Radius (CRM), Perceptive/ImageNow, and PeopleSoft
