Writing a dissertation on power sharing through cabinet appointments in nondemocracy. I show that autocrats use technocratic appointments to the finance ministry to appease their creditors. Wrote a study on the effect of leader turnover in autocracies on the expropriation of foreign direct investment, aggregating 16 yearly panel datasets on developing countries.Review code in Python, R, and Stata to find bugs and malpractice and ensure the security of the publication process as the replication administrator for Political Science Research and Methods. Reviewed 9 packages in Python, 14 in R, and 7 in Stata and identified 61 distinct bugs. Corresponded directly with clients (authors) to repair bugs in their code, reduced the average replication time for papers by 40%, and created visualizations in Tableau.Assisted professors on various research projects using SQL and Python for data scraping, data engineering, and natural language processing. I wrote a natural language system to classify 50,000 tweets by policy area.Assisted professors by building web scraping tools. I created a web scraper in Python that crawled archives of Spanish newspapers and counted mentions of the party, then aggregated and plotted daily mentions and visualized using Power BI and R.

I identified arms shipments worth millions of USD in potential violation of the UN arms embargo on Sudan and presented findings to US diplomacy stakeholders.Build a new database of government workers' emails in Sudan for information-gathering campaigns using Palantir. Aggregated over 6,000 emails from the Sudanese military, social security administration, and central bank. I designed a new algorithm for matching names when they are inconsistently translated across languages, which reduced search times by 90%.Trained journalists on research methods to identify flights, track international goods shipments and trace corporate ownership networks. Journalists I trained identified a cement company owned by the RSF paramilitary. Produced a technical report on the ownership of Sudanese companies affiliated with the Wagner network. Identified 3 previously unknown shell companies operating in Wagner’s Sudan network in the gold, agriculture, and transport.

Created a backend system to move data from a subcontractor's SQL database into cleaned, validated, and usable Excel data for the team. Cleaned and maintained a dataset of events with 50,0000 observations and 3,000 rows. Designed a system for harmonizing historical data across 4 previous database generations.Built an automated system in Python to collect reports from staff members and send weekly emails flagging errors in reporting.Wrote visualizations that linked advertising events to UTM codes to identify the effect of our advertisement campaign on member enrollment. Presented these findings to senior staff at the National Institute of Health.Gathered historical data on advertising campaign success by city visited and combined it with municipal data on income, city size, and urbanization. Used these inputs to create a random forest model that predicted event attendees and enrollment for cities visited to help in program targeting.
