I like to make things work better. Flow better, read better, perform better, be understood better. Good instructions, properly set expectations, and clear communication are everything to having a great experience, and making those things easier to use and easier to understand is what I like to do best.In my current Implementation Manager role I help HR professionals and managers have the best experience possible when it comes to learning HR software. I take the fear of the unknown out of the process, and arm them with the "Why" and the "How", empowering them to take charge of tools that will help make their work lives easier. I also make sure we have some laughs while we're doing.Prior to Implementation, I made the move to Talent Acquisition to satisfy a long held curiosity about the field, working in the that area for 2 1/2 years. Prior to that, I spent 5 years using my design and instructional skills to streamline and rethink how our deliverables can make for a better customer experience, and improve our products and the ways our customers experience them. The result? Over a million dollars annually of increased revenue and a massive increase in customer retention, while doing what I loved: designing better product approaches and learning materials to help customers and coworkers alike have quality, easy-to-understand experiences and better interactions with my company’s products. In 2020 I helped my company to transition our hiring process from an onsite-only call center to an entirely remote network of agents. We increased the volume of people who came into our monthly new hire classes by about 50% on average, and resulted in a year of record growth in both employees and customers. That was really cool.My Predictive Index profile says I’m a Craftsman - Smart, steady, reliable, knows his stuff inside out and is intrinsically motivated to doing his best - but I’m also much more than that. I’m empathetic, funny, and above, a collaborator with others that can see the long term impacts while solving problems through the short-term needs. My old boss once said she wished she had 20 more of me on her team. It was one of the best compliments I’ve ever received. I played lead guitar, mandolin and dobro in a multi-award winning band for many years, making multiple records and touring much of the United States. I still play out occasionally. Now I write novels in my free time and love cooking for my wife. Together, we volunteer for a number of organizations, including a little free food pantry, 105.5 The Colorado Sound, Larimer Humane’s Society.
