Leads global Product Engineering for Teradata, which includes Vantage, Cloud and On-Prem Database software, Advanced Analytics, Data Management, Platform Engineering, Automation, Quality/Test, CI/CD, and Program Management. Previously developed Teradata's Shared Software and Engineering Services organization, which includes Open Platforms and Software Manufacturing (DevOps, CI/CD, Automation). McIntire joined Teradata as part of the acquisition of StackIQ (see below), a venture backed startup which he founded in 2006.

The Board is responsible for guiding the mission, scope, and directives of the San Diego Venture Group.Founded in 1986, SDVG is a non-profit organization designed to bring together people who are interested in new ventures and furthering individual companies, as well as our overall innovation community. We are working hard to further San Diego’s status as a leading entrepreneurial and venture region. We regularly meet with startup companies and investors – both here and outside of San Diego. It is our mission to elevate the funding environment and growth prospects for our local startups. It is all about the companies, for the companies. We further work to support our venture capital eco-system by providing an informal and dynamic environment for entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, community leaders, and business advisors to develop greater insights into the process of forming, funding, and scaling high growth companies.

Served on StackIQ's Board of Directors from 2006-2017. Chairman of the Board 2006 to 2011 and 2016 to 2017. Also ran StackIQ's advisory board, which included leaders from Facebook, Silicon Graphics, Andreessen Horowitz, Flex, and Joyent. Also served as COO/CTO from 2016 to 2017.

Raised $10-million in venture capital. Founded and grew StackIQ from the ground up. Recruited and built teams/leaders in Product Development, Sales, Marketing and Operations. Closed large enterprise deals at Verizon Wireless, American Express, Procter & Gamble, and more. Led successful exit and transition to Teradata.

Successfully led North American launch of Singapore-based Scalable Systems, which contributed to an acquisition by Platform Computing. Role included Product and Business Development.Scalable Systems developed and sold the first commercial version of the Rocks cluster toolkit, an easy-to-use cluster configuration and management package developed by the Grid and Cluster Computing Group at San Diego Supercomputer Center and its collaborators. NPACI Rocks was awarded "Most Important Software Innovation"​ by both HPCwire's editors and readers in 2004.The Scalable Rocks Cluster Toolkit includes the Rocks Console (RxC) which is a web-enabled Rocks cluster management console and integration with the open source grid engine scheduler from SUN. Scalable Rocks v1.1 ships with either NPACI Rocks OS or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.Mr. Laurence Liew, Founder and CTO for Scalable Systems said, "Scalable Rocks enables systems integrators, cluster administrators and end-users to achieve maximum productivity and throughput performance in the shortest amount of time.
