I proudly serve as the Managing Trustee at Help in Suffering (HIS), a distinguished non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the suffering of street animals in Jaipur, Rajasthan.My passion for animal welfare dates back to childhood, but I became actively involved in animal welfare activities upon becoming a founding member and Trustee of the "Animal Lover's Association" NGO in Agra.For a decade, I led impactful initiatives aimed at advocating for the rights of performing animals such as monkeys, snakes and bears. Through protests and rescue missions, our efforts made significant strides in raising awareness and protecting the vulnerable members of our animal community.In 2002, I embarked on a new chapter of my journey by joining Help in Suffering (HIS) as a volunteer. Driven by a desire to create lasting change, I immersed myself in HIS's mission of providing medical care, shelter and advocacy for street animals in need. The support of my colleagues and mentors helped me to take on to the position of Managing Trustee, becoming the first Indian lady to hold this esteemed position at HIS.Here are some of the milestones that my team and I have achieved so far:- Creation of HIS merchandise range to raise funds for HIS- Made Jaipur virtually free of rabies through comprehensive vaccination and Animal Birth Control (ABC) programs.- Established Camel Rescue Center (CRC) in Bassi to provide treatment to camels in need.Recognition and AwardsMy work has been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Humane Society International award in 2012, the Pride of Jaipur award in 2013 and the Nexzen Award for Excellence in social work. I owe these awards to my animals, my team and God who has always given me the strength to follow my passion of working for animal welfare.
