With two hats on I am accountable for commanding two simultaneous projects, one of which involves research and development of nonlinear flexible photonic devices based on arrays of III-V nanowires.Another key project has involved initiating an ETH spin Off company and I am currently leading a team of engineers and students to develop and pioneer the manufacturing of a nonlinear optical imaging tool to provide a hardware and software solution to non-destructive testing of materials, which will be applied to a number of applications.This has involved developing business cases, pitching and presenting to investors and profiling ourselves at start-up challenge events including Tech Transfer at CLEO US in San Jose and sourcing strategic industry partnerships with labs in Australia, France, Denmark, Russia and Switzerland.Key achievements have included successful collaborations with laboratories in Australia, France, Russia and Switzerland to ensure world-leading input.

Led a project that outputted a fully automated nonlinear multiphoton polarimetric microscope (also known as PolarNon) to be utilized in the research and learning of material science and nanotechnology, developing it into a commercial prototype. Informed by demand, we tailored the microscope to targeting the market of non-destructive testing of metals and quality control of optoelectronic components.This involved raising funds, managing the software development, prototype design and assembly, providing supervision and guidance to two students working on the project. The commercial aspect involved liaising with and building relationships with suppliers, research institutes, sourcing potential customers and investors and presenting pitches for the microscope to the Aerospace and Semiconductor industry.This resulted in the following patent being filed: EP18193103.1 Automated System For Wide-field Multiphoton Microscope. It also was selected in the Top 20 of Spark Award at ETH.

As part of a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship funded project I designed non-linear optical metamaterials based on nanowires, leading it from project concept through to final publication while providing leadership to students collaborating on the project.I also participated in other research projects, inputting into a wider scientific community.

Accountable for modelling semiconductor nanowires for new types of solar cells, LEDs, lasers and photovoltaic devices. This involved managing the end-to-end process of a research project from drafting proposals and budget management to reporting on results and against specified objectives.I also delivered and organized two international research conferences as part of my role.
