Tim attended Boston College and received a BS in Geology in 1982. From there he attended the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo where he received his MA in Geology in 1987. From 1985-1992 Tim worked at White Sands Missile Range as a Fortran Programmer in the Foreign Missiles Division of the US Army's Vulnerability Assessment Laboratory. Tim returned home to Buffalo in 1992 and took a job at SUNY Buffalo as a Technical Consultant in their Computing Center. It was there he was trained on the first IBM SP1 located at the Cornell Theory Center. In the midst of a hellacious Buffalo winter Tim received a solicitation that openings existed for Technical Consultants at the Maui High Performance Computing Center (MHPCC). Tim spent from 1994-2007 at MHPCC, the last position as the Manager of Customer Services, 24x7 Operations and Information Technology. In 2007 he took the position of Group Leader of the Customer Services Group at Livermore Computing, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.Tim's interests include applying Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices to HPC Customer Support, improving information delivery to Livermore Computing users and measuring and improving Hotline performance.Specialties: Managing Technical Support teams in High Performance Computing
