Focusing on family law and personal injury, I have been representing clients throughout Central Ohio for more than forty years and believe that it is fair to say with great success! I like what I do. I like my clients. I enjoy going head to head with other good lawyers to resolve matters amicably wherever possible. I started in the practice as an associate in a small law firm and have continued as a partner in a small firm throughout my entire career. As with most small firm lawyers of my vintage, clients dictate your area of expertise. As a young lawyer I tried many criminal cases for Municipal Court up to five capital murder trials. This changed over time and for years I did personal injury work from both the Plaintiffs and Insurance Defense side averaging 8-10 jury trials per year. Over the last twenty years my focus has changed and I am a regular in the Domestic Relations Courts throughout Central Ohio. At Gerrity and Burrier we utilize our attorneys and staff members to be more cost effective to our clients. I pride myself in meeting my client's expectations with regard to availability, returning their calls without fail within a 24-hour time period. We always attempt to utilize our personnel as effectively as possible to maximize results and to minimize client's costs.I have appeared at every level of State Courts in Ohio including making arguments before the Ohio Supreme Court. I have also appeared in the U.S. District Court on many occasions and made arguments in the U.S. Court of Appeals as well.In addition to the foregoing, I have been an arbitrator in personal injury matters more than two hundred times primarily as chairman no doubt associated with my background in personal injury and defense work.Currently my client composition is approximately eight percent Family Law and twenty percent Plaintiff's personal injury.
