Timothy Gilbert is a Contract Investigator for DHS, Executive Protection and Security Specialist. at Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). Colleagues describe him as "While serving as the Program Lead for the Investigative Surveillance Unit (ISU) program in Afghanistan, there were several names of Law Enforcement Professionals (LEPs) that I immediately began hearing positive comments about. One of the names that I began to consistently hear over and over was Tim Gilbert. I've always felt that praise from your peers was one of the most reliable and sincere sources there is. The ISU program is one of, if not the most successful Afghan National Police programs throughout the country. ISU has conducted hundreds of high-risk operations that have directly resulted in the seziure of literally tons of explosive materials and hundreds of IED which otherwise would have resulted in the deaths and/or injuries of US, NATO and Afghan Security Forces; as well as innocent Afghan citizens. Shortly after my arrival, I organized the first joint conference of LEPs assigned to ISU in which to bring together all the LEPs so that we could learn from each other. After finally meeting Tim in person, I was immediately impressed with his knowledge and passion for the job he was performing. Recently I worked for a US Army COL that was responsible for the area of Afghanistan that Tim's team covered. To this day, this COL still talks highly of Tim, his partner and their ISU Team. In my position I was the "face" of the ISU to the international military and other high-level officials during my deployment. As such I was in the position to receive praise and compliments for the work of the ISU program. However, I was just the "guy in the position". The true praise and compliments belong to the ISU mentors that were out in the field. The credit for the ISU program successes belong to those LEPs, men like Tim Gilbert. If ever I'm in a position to made a hiring decision concerning any position for which Tim were to apply, I would hire him without reservation.
