I hold a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, and a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate. I've had opportunities to apply my knowledge both while living abroad and with supporting diverse communities in Buffalo. In hotel guest services, I developed robust organizational habits and interpersonal skills. As an educator in Japan, I learned essential group management skills and passionately guided others to success.As the Medical secretary at BestSelf's Primary care clinic, my responsibilities are managing communication with patients and patient's Care managers, scheduling appointments, managing mail and faxes, completing requests from providers and from other departments. I also assist with records requests, billing inquiries, issuing referrals, and advocating for patients.I have learned to prioritize and delegate when addressing the needs of clients with mental and physical health concerns. In addition to my regular duties, I have also organized the front office, written CSR procedures, trained staff on procedures and software use, restructured workflow for Telemedicine operations during lockdown, and compiled data on BestSelf Homeless outreach clients. My excellent interaction with our patients has been repeatedly praised by fellow staff and noted on my performance evaluations. I've completed classes in Leadership 101, Gender Affirming care, and Mental Health First Aid training offered by the training department.
