Managed the day to day running of the store and staff. Setup promotions, set weekly targets, Delt with all stores health and safety. Increased stores sales with a complete store reshuffle, introduced food to go, and bakery items, and introduced longer store opening hours attracting more custom. Keeping staff wages within budget, training and promoting staff.

My role at McColls was deputy store manager of a food and wine store managing 8 staff members.• As deputy manager I worked alongside the store manager running a team of 8 staff.• Assist to run the store with the manager• Generating staff rotas• Stock ordering and the daily running of the store.• After seven months working as deputy manager I started training to become a store manager within the company,and after a further seven months training I become store manager of my own store.

I helped with the merge/ takeover from Somerfield, to the Coop. Worked within the cash office and fresh food departments. I stayed with the Coop for 4 months after the takeover before leaving to become manager of my own convenience store.

Whist working at the Somerfield Bromborough branch I gained several attributes to my job role as sales assistant and DutyManager.• These included delivering excellent customer service• In 2007 I became the stores main baker which involved working in a very busy bakery baking fresh bread, cakes androlls, as well as hot pies pasties and cooked meats.• Health and safety, Keeping the bakery clean and tidy at all times• After two years this led me to become the fresh food supervisor• Dealing with ordering of stock, supervising staff and helping towards stock loss prevention• I became one of the stores Duty Managers in 2010• Supporting the manager and running the store in the manager’s absence.• In late 2010 The Co-Operative bought out Somerfield stores and with this my branch underwent a majorrefurbishment, in which I gained more skills such as building shelving units, helping with the relay out of the stores isles and checkouts and major clean down and restocking the store before the re-opening.
