Time stands still for no one, and that include businesses. You must be willing to change in order to expand and progress with the times.I've experienced many changes throughout my career at American Licorice Company. Our family-owned business, started by my great-grandfather in 1914, is the maker of the much-loved Red Vines and Sour Punch candies. After more than a century in business, we're still going strong.I've worn many different hats over the years, from plant foreman to plant manager to chief creative officer. Those experiences have brought me to where I am today: the director of innovation at American Licorice. I enjoy the creative process and working with change — which keeps business, and life, from ever getting boring. The ever-changing business landscape demands that we develop new products and improve how we work. It's important for the future of the company.I'm pleased to see American Licorice expand its sights beyond the bottom line. While we were once focused on survival, we are now thriving as we give back to our local communities and launch initiatives to improve the planet. We are also closely engaged with our associates to ensure they have the training — and whatever else they need — to be the best that they can be. People, the community, and the environment are important components of our core values, and they help make us a better, stronger company.
