About Timothy Dyer
My experience is with billing practices, health care compliance, and large scale data analysis of health systems.I have created a system for the detection of fraudulent billing, which required the use of Medicare claims data to determine possible fraudulent behavior. I used my skills in research and garnered a deep knowledge of medical literature and guidelines as to procedures.In law school, I studied under a Health Law & Policy Institute scholarship, and lectured multiple times on fraudulent billing methods at Professors’ request. The lecture consisted of the inpatient and outpatient fee-for-service billing methodologies of Medicare, and I showed an example of inpatient up-coding, explaining how provider data analysis to be used to discover such fraudulent behavior.More recently, while working in private practice, I directed a number ofsmall providers on OIG false claims investigations. Then I worked with the Oregon Department of Justice, assisting on a large PPACA marketplace case in litigation.
