Full time software development position at a large firm designing and developing software for the B2B industry. Responsibilities focused on developing server-side communication plug-ins for exchanging business documents securing over the Internet using a variety of industry standard specifications.Key Contributions:· Designed and implemented a standalone communications server that exchanges business documents securely over the Internet using the AS2 and RosettaNet standards. These standards employ transport and/or message-level encryption and digital signatures to guarantee secure transmissions. The servers were integrated with a number of company products and support the document exchange for 1000s of trading partners.· Facilitated the continued interoperability of the AS2 product with upwards of thirty other vendor implementations of the AS2 standard by participating in bi-annual testing cycles by the Drummond Group.

Full time software development position at a mid-size firm designing and developing software for the mortgage banking industry. Responsibilities focused on developing server-side communication plug-ins for a client-server mortgage application. These plug-ins enabled users of the system to request and merge credit reports from one or more credit bureaus, request and retrieve mortgage underwriting results from entities such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and mortgage data exchange with other third-party satellite services.Key Contributions:· Designed and implemented a server-side architecture for data exchange between the mortgage application and third party service vendors. This architecture featured a set of loosely coupled components working together to process a single data exchange transaction.· Successfully installed and integrated the data exchange architecture at a number of client sites, providing technical response and training for client staff.

Contract software development position at a small EE firm designing and developing an industrial software application. This application, written entirely in C, communicated with a Token Ring network of large industrial compressors by either direct serial connection or remotely via modem. The application operated in real-time, logging and graphically displaying mechanical data about the compressors. The application also included functionality to support automatic scheduling of compressor loading

Full time engineering position at a small R&D and consulting firm. Software engineering and programming responsibilities included designing and developing real-time, embedded instrumentation software for a series of new and innovative radiation detectors. These applications were all written in C++ and included chip-level and board-level control of analog-to-digital conversion, analog output, digital I/O, and various timers. All of these applications included customized real-time graphical interfaces.Key Contributions:· Development of a reusable OO-based toolkit driver API for interfacing with various hardware chips and computer boards that served as the fundamental data acquisition/control package for all instrumentation applications.· Software implementations of key scientific and statistical algorithms for the real-time detection of radiation based on analog input from the detector electronics, as well as calibration and alarm notification algorithms.
