Having enjoyed a productive career in organizational leadership, building community, and empowering personal growth as a clergy person, I’m actively working to transition to a new field where my broad range of competencies will have a meaningful impact. I am especially passionate about casting vision and engaging others in collaborative settings to meet needs and build strong services. Organization, communication (written and oral), and relationship-building have played an important role in my current position, and my goal is to transfer these skills to a career that equips people for success.Some of my key accomplishments as a clergy leader include:* Designing and implementing 10 annual giving campaigns to support congregational programming, communicate value, and cultivate commitment to mission, raising over $1.2 million. * Collaborating with leadership to restructure bylaws to improve efficiency and facilitate participation for a 200-member congregation.* Facilitating a discernment process that resulted in a decisive vote for inclusivity as an official congregational platform.* Serving as Head of Staff and providing guidance, collaboration, and oversight for 4 paid employees and 16 volunteer Board/committee members.* Successfully writing a $45K grant proposal for clergy/congregational renewal from the Lilly Fund.* Introducing dozens of programatic initiatives to build relationships, cultivate growth, and generate community outreach. In addition to congregational accomplishments, I’ve enjoyed fruitful work as a Communications Coach with students at Yale University, a keynote speaker for the leadership team of a number of senior living communities, and a published author with Westminster, John Knox Press. I have also enjoyed building relationships with leaders in my local community to foster mental health, educate about substance abuse prevention, and build a town-wide crisis response team. Strong listening skills, a desire to engage with others, and an open mind are traits that have enabled me to serve usefully in these areas. I am eager to embark on a new chapter and am looking forward to investing energy and effort in a new capacity in the near future.
