Overview: A seasoned professional and experienced leader with demonstrated success in non-profit management, strategic planning, budgeting, supervision, customer service, program planning and operations. He is currently employed at the David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC) in Naples where he supervises Project Recovery Program (PRP), a substance use treatment program for individuals in custody at the Naples Jail Center. Formerly, he was the clinical coordinator in Outpatient Services, where he also provided psychotherapy services to individuals and groups with mental health and substance use issues. In May 2013, he completed a 30-week psychotherapy program at the Washington School of Psychiatry (Washington, DC).Tim also has a small, private psychotherapy practice, Turas Counselling, PLLC, where he is able to provide teletherapy services to any Florida resident. Prior to moving to Southwest Florida, Tim was Director of the National Resource Center on AD/HD: A Program of CHADD, which is a CDC-funded information clearinghouse addressing all aspects of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD). As director, he oversaw all aspects of the Center's activities. He was a member of the CHADD management team since first joining the organization in 2002. Tim previously served as the first Director of Information and Referral at NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), overseeing the organization's HelpLine and its public education and information materials. He also has a background in Church ministry, having been ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1987 and having served in several parishes in Massachusetts.
