Event manager for Wisconsin's largest anime convention event and one of the state's largest conventions in general. In 2016, Anime Milwaukee had an attendance of over 9,000 people.I act as the Facilities Director for the event. I am an ambassador for the convention and negotiate with hotel and convention center representatives in order to grow our event in meaningful ways and ensure that our programming can thrive.As the head of the sponsoring department, I networked with companies related to Japanese animation, games, collectibles, etc., to acquire promotional materials, flyers, prize support, and other items, in exchange for advertising opportunities with our event. This includes companies such as Crunchyroll, FUNimation, Sentai Filmworks, Viz Media, and more. For the Japanese Culture Coordinator position, I had budgeted, planned, and scheduled Japanese cultural events at Anime Milwaukee. Such events include: art gallery by Chicago-based artist Ayumi Tanaka, Japanese speech contest overseen by the professors from the UW-Milwaukee Japanese department, Godzilla film panel by esteemed professor Jason Jones, film screenings and JET information sessions hosted by the Consulate General of Japan at Chicago, and more.
