As CTO for Laboremus I am responsible for building an engineering team as well as ensure there engineering processes for delivering software solutions to international clients with advanced IT infrastructure, and a fairly high computer literacy levels at the same time provide similar solutions in East Africa market where the IT infrastructure is absent in large parts of the country and the majority of the population have not used a computer before. For the European clients I lead a team that has designed and delivered solutions for loan origination process automation, KYC & digital signing, MiFIID2 compatibility tests, securities trading platforms, e-banking to mention a few. For Ugandan clients we have delivered solutions for government, non-profits and the banking sector. My role also involves a heavy consulting component. I interface with clients especially in the banking sector to analyze and conceptualize solutions for various types of problems. The problems range from bottlenecks within business processes to analyzing customer/user journeys and ultimately design and propose end-to-end solutions. The typical process involves multiple client interactions to elicitate requirements and establish the business problem, develop a full-blown proposal for implementation of the solution. This exercise involves estimation of time, costs and roadmaps for implementation including post implementation activities like support and maintenance.
