Tim joined The Leavitt Group’s Farmer-Leavitt Insurance Agency in 2006. In 2013 the agency underwent a notable transition through Tim’s partnership with agency Co-Owner and Principal Jim Farmer, rebranding as Farmer Woods Group. Effective January 1st, 2020, Tim was named President. A native Phoenician, Tim attended St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary School and Brophy College Preparatory, prior to graduating from the University of Arizona. Industry education includes The National Underwriter’s Course and The Hartford School of Insurance program in Commercial Lines Producer Development. In addition to his full-time career in insurance brokerage, Tim is a Commissioned Officer and Blackhawk Pilot in the Arizona Army National Guard. Lieutenant Colonel Woods completed a combat tour as a Platoon Leader and Company Commander during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 and completed his second tour in Iraq as a Battalion Operations Officer, having returned in October 2010. Tim maintains currency in the aircraft and remains proficient, flying monthly, and serving as the Brigade Operations Officer for the 98th Aviation Troop Command headquartered at Phoenix Papago Military Reservation. Tim is also actively involved in volunteering/fundraising within the local community as a life member of the Executive Council 70 and featured speaker with the Joe Foss Institute. An active member of The Thunderbirds, hosts of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Tim was the 2020 Tournament Chairman and will serve as Big Chief (President) for the 2020-2021 term and President of The Thunderbirds Charities Board. Professionally, Tim represents the insurance needs of a wide variety of businesses and, as an integral member of his clients’ executive teams, prides himself on long-term relationships based on unquestionable honesty, unwavering character, constant professionalism and superior service.
