The industry was at a cross-roads where roles and responsibilities were shifting, and the most aggressive designers and publishers saw great opportunities for doing work better, cheaper, and faster. Production control began shifting to the creatives, and printers needed to master the new tools to preserve their position as prepress specialists.The Color Center was co-located at training centers with Scitex America in Los Angeles and Chicago, and its own facility at our headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts.As Director of The Color Center's primary facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts, my role was to develop curriculum for our three teaching facilities and present courses at each location. My areas of speciality included color reproduction, scanning, prepress, retouch and image manipulation techniques.

My role was to create color separations for printing on metal substrates, often using non-process color combinations. Circa was formed by a partnership between Continental Can and Scitex. The business was eventually acquired by Schawk, Inc. Circa was also the beta site for the first Contex system, who were at that time developing software that wrapped images around 3D objects.
