My story, so you understand my mission: My Dad left our family when I was 13, leaving my Mom to raise three kids single. We were dirt poor. We were called "White Trash," "The kids from the other side of the tracks," etc. I was constantly in trouble. In high school, I met my wife Kim, and we got married in college. We worked full time, went to school full time, and managed somehow to have two boys in our 'spare time.' 😀 We got out of school, and Kim decided she wanted to be a Stay at Home Mom. As her Husband. I made that happen. I started doing tradeshows for The Pool and Spa Industry and quickly rose through the ranks, making a high 6-figure income, #1 in my field, but I was miserable. I was never home for 20 years. I'd be gone for weeks at a time. My wife was basically a single parent for our two boys. We had all the trappings of success, but I completely missed my sons' lives. I decided to get off the road in 2006 to be home with my Wife. We opened up 7 Hot Tub Stores all at once with some "Partners" ( I use that term very loosely). For two years, we made BANK. I really thought I'd be able to retire early. Then 2008 happened. The housing market crashed, and so did our business. The partners scattered, and I was left holding the bag for the 'negotiated down' debt of $750,000. We lost everything. I went to the Plasma Center 2 times a week to feed my wife. At that time, I met my Mentor, Orrin Woodward, and he introduced me to some principles that revolutionized our lives. Through Financial Literacy, Leadership, and Personal Development training, my wife and I wrote the last check for the $750,000 five years ago. By the end of this year, we will be totally Debt-Free, including our home. We have doubled our income twice in the last five years, applying the Leadership and Personal Development training to our Real Estate Company. We are now the #1 Team in our niche for Realty One; our main emphasis? We help people avoid Foreclosure by Short Selling their homes, over 600 precious souls in the last ten years. Our Misery became our Ministry. We also PREACH the Financial Literacy, Leadership, and Personal Development training to our clients ... because if you don't change the HABIT, you will not change the BEHAVIOR.
