• Responsibilities include managing the busiest response district in the state• Supervising emergency responders and support personnel• Serving as the designated State On-Scene Coordinator for coastal oil spills and inland hazardous materials incidents• Serving as the Vice-Chair of the USCG Sector St. Petersburg Area Committee• Serving as the Co-Chair of the Tampa Bay Spill Committee• Supervising response contractors• Completing natural resource damage assessments• Conducting Shoreline Contamination Assessment Technique (SCAT) assessments• Conducting terminal facility inspections and assisting in development of local and area contingency plans• Managing contaminated soil, surface water, and groundwater remediation projects through agency closure• Maintaining emergency response equipment• Writing comprehensive incident reports• Advising on compliance with Department rules• Ensuring safety procedures are followed• Ensuring proper packaging, transport, and disposal of Department generated hazardous wastes• Overseeing the statewide environmental forensics program• Providing training and presentations to law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies, industries, civic groups, and environmental groups

• Responsibilities include assisting law enforcement in the investigation of environmental crimes• Managing all chemical/environmental evidence collection activities for the Criminal Investigations Bureau• Supervising a Forensic Technician and eight District Environmental Forensic Specialists throughout the state• Serving as forensic expert on Florida's Environmental Response Team• Assisting agents with case development and witness interviews• Coordinating forensic sampling activities at major search warrants and crime scenes• Securing proper chain of custody for sampling evidence• Coordinating analytical support with the DEP Central Laboratory• Interpreting and summarizing analytical data• Assisting state and federal prosecutors• Providing expert witness testimony• Maintaining a statewide field sampling SOP• Developing and evaluating new forensic sampling techniques and procedures• Providing training for field personnel• Conducting after-action assessments of forensic sampling activities• Networking with area crime labs and other forensic specialists, and performing other duties as directed
