Scientific Support Coordinator - Coastal Pollution Response
Current• Serve as the designated State Scientific Support Coordinator at spills and exercises• Represent FWC as State Trustee for fish, wildlife, and essential habitats at pollution events• Coordinate FWRI scientific resources for use by the response community• Work with response agency partners (FDEP, USCG, EPA, NOAA)• Manage Florida Marine Spill Analysis System (FMSAS)• Oversee maintenance and updates to Florida’s Environmental Sensitivity Indices• Assist with Natural Resource Damage Assessments• Direct Florida’s Wildlife Contingency Plan for Oil Spill Response• Participate in Florida’s Area Committees• Represent FWC FWRI at Regional Response Team IV meetings• Maintain digital Area Contingency Plans and Geographic Response Plans• Advance Tidal Inlet Protection Strategies throughout remainder of state• Conduct research, modeling, and mapping for coastal pollution incidents• Develop training and support for Shoreline Contamination Assessment Technique• Consult on oil spill response techniques within State waters• Perform special assignments on oil spill issues for the Institute
