Underwrite an average of four new loan files a day, volume permitting; with a thorough analysis to ensure the quality of each loan and to determine compliance with Company and Investor guidelines. Apply and interpret company-underwriting guidelines and makes sound credit decision. Complete credit, income analysis of loan, ensure proper audits are completed and verify consistency of loan file information.Determine any conditions, stipulations or pre-funding requirements. Review receipt of any conditions, stipulations or pre-funding requirements within 24 hours. Communicate in a professional manner with Loan Officers, processors, underwriting manager and/or production manager as required to discuss, assist and/or resolve any loan and/or outstanding issue. Review and cure any investor post-closing suspense requirements. Ensure approved loans meet regulatory and investor compliance prior to closing.

Verify, compile and assemble application documentation for primary, secondary and investment mortgage loans. Facilitate the gathering of loan conditions and submission for final loan approval to meet established loan closing dates. Communicate loan status to sales partners, referral source, borrowers and other interested parties. Maintain knowledge and comply with company policies, secondary market requirements and industry standards.

Program niche product guidelines into Fannie Mae’s Custom Desktop Underwriter system (CDU) for automated loan approval.Test new loan programs for accurate performance. Coordinate roll-out testing with underwriters prior to the final roll-out.Assist production staff in accessing and understanding CDU findings.Maintain rules in CDU to ensure the most recent guidelines are programmed accurately.

Monitor warehouse reports covering over 1 billion dollars worth of loans on the pipeline. Resolve suspended loans for purchase on the secondary market quickly and thoroughly.Trend investor suspensions and concerns and provide feedback to internal and external customers. Provide production reporting to assist executive management in making staffing changes.Deliver compliance approval or denial on various bond loans Director of Administrative Operations. Develop training, resource and conference presentations for underwriting on a national level.

Monitor productivity and production in accordance with department and company goals. Notify management of barriers to productivity and coordinate resolution.Work in partnership with various departments and divisions within the organization to clear exceptions for government endorsement and meet investor requirements. Provide one-on-one training for new employees and utilize coaching skills to further develop skills of existing staff members.

Assemble and deliver guaranty files to FHA, VA and UDSA for endorsement. Collaborate with insuring agencies to resolve rejects and post-endorsement reviews.Create and deliver purchase files to meet investor expiration dates and to investors using customized stacking lists. Special focus on unique loan types (Home Equity, CHFA/Guild & Bonds).Monitor and resolve investor conditions for purchase on shipped loans.Monitor all investor reporting for purchase conditions.Generate personal contacts with lender representatives and satisfy all investor requirements by providing documentation to clear exceptions.Open, sort and input mail.Furnish investors with trailing documents on purchased loans.Transmit documentation to county recorders for corrections and assignments.Auf in the implementation of the Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS) and design workflow layouts during the transition from MortgageWare to Empower.
