As a research assistant for the Sepsisteam, I was responsible for including patients in the emergency department of the UMCG in our study. Requesting consent, conducting questionnaires, processing blood and urine samples and communicating observations and questions with the doctors and nurses were some of my main tasks.

Whilst working for in-hospital Sepsis studentteam LONGEVITIES, I collected blood and urine samples from patients who were enrolled in the study. During my first 3 months as a lab technician, I processed 65 samples and won the award for most inclusions in that quarter.
