As secretary of Prof. A. van der Lugt of the Radiology & Nuclear Medicine department, I was responsible for handling requests for patient files, speaking to healthcare professionals and patients by telephone, email or letter, designing various personnel posters and co-writing the annual report of the 35 research groups in the department.

As Team Captain of the Acutelines Team, I was responsible for managing 25-35 BSc students and their work to enroll >20 participants per day in the study. In addition, I organised the recruitment of new employees 2-3 times a year and took care of the training procedures. I was also responsible for the monthly staff schedule, which I created in MS Excel and ORTEC. I was the link between the students and the steering committee.

As a research assistant for the Sepsisteam, I was responsible for including patients in the emergency department of the UMCG in our study. Requesting consent, conducting questionnaires, processing blood and urine samples and communicating observations and questions with the doctors and nurses were some of my main tasks.

Whilst working for in-hospital Sepsis studentteam LONGEVITIES, I collected blood and urine samples from patients who were enrolled in the study. During my first 3 months as a lab technician, I processed 65 samples and won the award for most inclusions in that quarter. My efforts contributed to the inclusion of >100 participants in the sepsis study.

I carried out an independent 8-month pilot project with a €600 grant on the effect of serial cooling on senescence development in different cell lines. I worked at the department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology.

The university museum in Groningen is a meeting place for the young and old. Every week, I guided groups of 10-20 people through the museum and the city of Groningen. I also organised 15 workshops with a scientific theme for children aged 6-13. In addition, I co-organised the assembly and launch of 3 new exhibitions in the museum with a team of about 10 people.
