Presently I work on Plantonomy, the autonomous technology using crop and greenhouse data for predictive crop growing. Making use of ML and AI techniques the crop is steered in the desired direction.My main focus and expertise is on the combination of computer vision and robotics with the aim on systems put into practice. The past few years I have been working on automation of crop handling tasks in greenhouses. I have contributed to the Kompano robot of Priva, the first autonomous deleafing robot on the market.I have 30+ years experience in (classic) image processing and I embrace the new deep learning techniques, based on convolutional neural nets with focus on practical solutions and I always want to learn.Mijn expertise is computer vision en robotica waarbij ik me richt op oplossingen die in de praktijk toegepast worden. De afgelopen jaren heb ik gewerkt aan automatisering van gewashandelingen in de glastuinbouw. Ik heb bijgedragen aan de ontwikkeling van de Kompano robot van Priva, die autonoom blad verwijdert van tomatenplanten in kassen.Met meer dan 20 jaar ervaring in (klassieke) beeldverwerking ben ik ook bekend met nieuwe deep learning technieken gericht op praktische toepassingen en ik ben nog steeds geboeid door nieuwe uitdagingen op het gebied van computer vision.
