I lead the organization’s strategic digital and direct mail communications programs thatreach hundreds of thousands of people through direct mail, email blasts, peer-to-peer text messages, engaging website content, campaign-specific micro-sites, and social media. Set and implemented communications strategies for electoral and issue campaigns and built the brand of Connecticut Working Families. Planned and promoted earned media events through targeted digital outreach to print and broadcast media.

Identified unique, local, winnable economic justice and sustainable food campaigns where Change.org could have a unique impact. Researched and wrote original blog posts and petitions, then promoted and publicized campaigns using social media. Updated campaigns, interviewed and connected with other activists, and set the narrative of campaigns.

San Diego, CA

Built a dynamic digital organizing program from the ground up to elect Lori Saldana to Congress in California's 52nd Congressional District. Managed and grew an email list of dedicated volunteers, supporters, and donors. Helped set the narrative of the campaign through social media and onling actions and micro-sites.

Wrote blog posts for RunForAmerica.org, a project to recruit progressive local candidates for office. Monitored and updated Progressive Majority social media channels.

As the Field Coordinator I planned and coordinated national earned media and citizen education actions and events and developed materials for earned media actions such as handbills, banners, and talking points.

As the Communications Campaign Coordinator I managed, edited, and wrote the organization’s Weblog, which reached 30,000 unique visitors a month. I wrote press releases, talking points and fact sheets for distribution to the press. I researched media markets, built press lists, and conducted outreach to online and print media.

As a Campaign Intern I field calls and e-mails from the public who want information. I also keep up with news and blogs about Wal-Mart, and write entries for our organizations Blog. I help the Field Department with action planning and keeping a database of specific local battles.
