Seasoned attorney with substantial experience as a private practitioner, in-house counsel for a national title insurer and real property agent with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Currently serving as Assistant City Attorney with the City of Wilmington, North Carolina. In those roles, he has gained experience in a wide assortment of legal and technical matters including, but not limited to, complex real estate, business and financial transactions; representation of clients in zoning, environmental regulatory and permitting cases; analysis of title issues and underwriting of title insurance for multi-million dollar residential and commercial properties; review of plans for highway and transportation improvement projects and assisting with right of way, easement and real property acquisitions necessary to facilitate such projects; assisting a municipality with various real property, zoning and land use matters; and providing advice and guidance to municipal staff, boards and commissions. This diverse experience has afforded him the opportunity to develop excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and abilities, while also keeping a practical focus, mindful of the business and personal needs of clients and customers. He prides himself in being diligent, thorough, conscientious, and responsive. In addition to his experience as an attorney and real property agent, he has served as an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He is also licensed as a real estate broker with the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and their two golden retrievers.
