Currently employed as the Dean of Students at Kingman Unified in Arizona. I primarily deal with discipline issues involving students, maintaining a working relationship with parents and families of students. Conduct mediation using restorative justice practices. Former Criminal Justice Instructor employed with Valley ROP at Selma High School in Selma, California. I taught dual-enrollment classes (college classes with college credits taught in high school) and other Public Safety Pathway courses. I also taught Basic and Advanced Security Guard classes to adult students and provided them with job connections to local security guard companies. I hold a Career and Technical Education teaching credential in California and Arizona. I also have a background in law enforcement as I was previously employed with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department in several positions over an 18-year career which included: Communications Dispatcher, Community Service Officer, Bailiff (Courts), Patrol, Property/Robbery Detective and Crisis Negotiator. I have extensive training in POST courses as well as advanced training in Crisis Negotiations. In addition to public safety I also work with teaching relaxation techniques through hypnosis, meditation, and other holistic healing modalities that help in dealing with stress, grief, career change, and other life events that can cause distress.
