About Todd Moore
Materials Engineer:I have a solid understanding of ceramics, polymers, and metals, along with their unique properties. My knowledge extends to the principles of mechanical and chemical engineering, allowing me to build practical simulations and models using integrated software to address real-world problems. I am adept at working with phase diagrams and constructing aqueous reaction diagrams, especially in the context of waste management. My problem-solving skills are well-honed, particularly in the realm of material or product design. I am capable of managing technical projects and working collaboratively with a manufacturing design team. My leadership has been demonstrated in both academic and manufacturing settings, where I have successfully coordinated the efforts of multiple technicians. I am also proficient in technical writing, covering processes, safety, and design aspects. Some guiding principles I adhere to include:1) Embrace failure as a pathway to learning and innovation.2) A desire to make a positive impact is the stepping stone to meaningful work.3) Identifying a problem is the first step, but the ability to provide solutions is what sets one apart.I am not deterred by the prospect of failure when striving to solve meaningful problems. This is where I find motivation and challenge. It's common to point out problems, yet success as an analytical assessor comes from the ability to dissect a problem and propose multiple, practical, and cost-effective solutions, with evidence to back them up. My goal is to embody this approach as an engineer and scientist.Junior Developer:I am an adept data scientist with a robust background in R&D metallurgy, harmoniously blending the realms of material science and data analytics. Proficient in Python and Java, I leverage tools such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Pandas to dissect complex datasets, unearthing actionable insights for process amelioration and material optimization.Currently serving as an R&D Metallurgist, my role is pivotal in harnessing machine learning techniques for hyperparameter tuning and model optimization, consequently driving substantial advancements in material engineering. With a solid grounding in professional programming methodologies, I adhere to S.O.L.I.D principles, ensuring code efficiency and maintainability while prioritizing reduced runtime and memory usage.I boast significant experience in SQL for database management and query optimization, having led initiatives that markedly enhanced query performance.

Research And Development Metallurgist
Studied aqueous potassium doping effects and dopant concentration on recrystallization behavior within swaged molybdenum rods. Employed chemical analysis (ICP, AAS) and standard metallography practices on untreated versus heat treated rods at temperatures up to 1200 ℃ to analyze doped rods.Devised a method using rubber molds for compaction of mechanically alloyed refractory powders into green body rings via cold isostatic pressing. Observed linear and volumetric shrinkage ratios from pack to sintered dimensions, and examined compression and decompression rate and magnitude effects on the final sintered ingot.Currently developing a process for tape casting, debinding, and sintering of tungsten and molybdenum refractory metals using aqueous blending methods of researched deflocculants, binders, plasticizers, and solvent mixtures. Addressed a sintering issue with one of the pressed parts currently in development, exploring the effect of hydrogen penetration, thermal mass and heat-up relationships, and temperature effect. Designed a sintering schedule to improve productivity and sinter quality of the pressed parts. Created a new vessel to balance these relationships for consistent quality while maintaining elevated throughput. Implemented a method for sampling and characterizing produced rod, ingot, sheet, plate and pressed components against ASTM and AMS industry standards.Certified as an internal and external auditor for the company to maintain ISO9001 and AS9100D standards. Successfully led teams to optimize materials to meet high industry standards and customer needs. Subject matter expert for Mo and Mo alloys.Utilized machine learning to accurately characterize material mechanical properties. I develop and maintain databases for storing vast data from furnaces and physical manufacturing collection depots, aiding in better tracking and analysis of manufacturing processes.
Undergraduate Student
Laboratory Assistant (Volunteer)
Assisted preparation of samples - metal, polymer, and ceramic for multiple testing purposes including SEM analysis, microstructure analysis, TEM analysis, TGA, and even non-destructive testing techniques including dye penetration and UT.My responsibilities included lab work above analysis, however, during the job I was able to provide personal feedback on pvservations and get direct profession criticism.Additional tasks included lab clean-up and preparation of enchants and dissolving solutions. This was unpaid volunteer work to learn lab techniques.
Bartender
Qc / Service Coordinator / Service Technician
I began my career in a factory, initially working as an assembler before transitioning to a quality control role. In this position, I was responsible for inspecting, repairing, or rejecting final window products in the manufacturing process. My interest in manufacturing led me to pursue a course in Demand Flow Technology, where I learned about process optimization, particularly focusing on the elimination of non-value-added steps. Applying these principles, I enhanced the efficiency of a factory area, making it more productive. My journey then led me to become the service coordinator for the entire company. In this role, I oversee a team of six service technicians spread across multiple states, including Maine, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. My duties encompass ordering materials, designing service procedures, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Additionally, I manage the documentation of services performed, communicate with the quality department regarding significant service trends, and oversee financial aspects, recognizing that my decisions can have substantial cost implications.Further responsibilities include invoicing service orders, developing smart-sheets for tracking improvement opportunities, and contributing to large-scale window projects, ensuring their proper care, handling, and repair.I am proficient in utilizing various communication tools, including phones, smart-sheets, emails, and memos, and regularly present problem-solving strategies and quality improvement proposals to company executives.Eventually, I relocated to Pennsylvania to work as a full-time Service Technician while pursuing further education. In this role, my responsibilities include scheduling repairs, managing parts for repair, and performing high-level window repairs, including glass and hardware work. I also handle the installation, removal, and replacement of window sashes.
