I am a designer and educator with an extensive background in digital product design, industrial design, and group facilitation. A Midwesterner at heart, having grown up in Michigan, I’m currently based in Brooklyn, NY, but have taught and practiced design across the globe.I care deeply about my family and friends, the natural environment, helping people learn new skills, creating laughter, drawing what I see, and designing products up to the standards of Dieter Rams. I don’t care too much for social media, mangos, and people’s prejudices. For a living, I’ve worked at some really exciting and lovely organizations such as Designlab, Stanford University’s d.school, Umbau School for Architecture, The Design Gym, The Hive at the Claremont Colleges, and JMU X-Labs.What sets me apart from other product designers is my ability to think in multiple dimensions, communicate ideas in various mediums, and teach others to navigate uncertainty in the design process.
