Since joining Reconomy in October 2018, I've dedicated myself to understanding more about the global, regional and country-specific approaches to circular economy. My role is multifaceted —I lead our digital marketing strategies, support our tech-enablement programs for customer benefit, and have executive responsibility for our sustainability initiatives. One of my proudest achievements is developing the Reconomy Social Value Programme (RSVP), which we launched in 2019 to embed social responsibility into our corporate DNA.Before Reconomy, I honed my leadership skills at Jewson for 10 years, culminating as the UK Showroom Director. There, I led initiatives that revitalised our showrooms and customer experiences, and was proud of leading a team that could both envision growth and also turn those visions into tangible successes.As a customer-centric operations director, I managed a significant P&L and led a robust team, always with an eye on our company values and the integrity that defines us. I'm adept at identifying and improving value propositions that don't serve the customer, embedding these improvements into our business through comprehensive training and robust communication.With a career that began in the halls of Nottingham University, where I pursued a BA (Hons) in Sociology, I have 19 years of experience working in marketing and senior leadership roles within the utilities, manufacturing and construction industries.Prior to my time at Jewson, I gathered a breadth of experience from roles at E.on, Halstead Boilers (Dimplex) and the National Merchant Buying Society (NMBS). I also hold a Chartered Institute of Marketing Professional Diploma. Outside the office, I'm a family man at heart, sharing life's journey with my wife and our two young daughters. I play the piano and guitar and had a misspent youth singing in bands at weddings, clubs and parties and enjoy DIY, gardening, and the ever-present thrill of a good book by authors like J.G. Ballard and Paul Auster. My love for sports remains undiminished, I play football regularly, swim, go to the gym and have a more casual interests in tennis, badminton and golf and I am also a lifelong supporter of Newcastle United FC!
