• Built a statistical modelling framework in R that predicts RNA structural changes due to environmental differences or mutations.• Programmed and tested the first working version diffBUM-HMM, conducted literature reviews of existent competing models, and validated performance with high-throughput RNA probing datasets of yeast 35S ribosomal pre-rRNA and mice lncRNA.• Proved diffBUM-HMM to be both highly sensitive and specific, in comparison to other gold standard pipelines of the time, robust to false positives, and able to detect known both protein binding sites and structural/flexibility differences.• Published culminated results in Genome Biology as Co-First Author. Managed project code with Git and GitHub repository, wrote up in LaTeX, generated data visualizations with RNA StructureEditor and the Python packages pandas, matplotlib and seaborn.

• Dissected and harvested murine embryonic tissue, prepared + produced specimen cyrostat sections for immunofluoresence staining and semi-automated confocal + wide-field microscope imaging. Maintained mammalian cell cultures at BSL-2.• Preprocessed microscopy scans for qualitative analysis with ImageJ, undertook best practices to distinguish between genuine immunofluorescence signals and artifacts. Reproduced study results on the emergence of murine embryo hematopoietic cells.
