Utilising DrillExpect software in order to determine expected parameters to maintain wellbore integrity. Employing DrillScene software to model and monitor downhole conditions in order to advise clients of positive and negative conditions and their resolution.Implementing DrillTronics safety management system, which directly controls drawworks and pumps in order to limit surge/swab effects amongst other benefits in a watchdog service.Working with a great team of competent and reliable engineers in an exciting company at the forefront of digital well twins and their application for safe and efficient operations.

Responsible for 22 outstanding engineers performing data acquisition, well monitoring & drilling optimization. Also responsible for operations management of a global fleet of rigsite data acquisition packages and driving the goal of comprehensive data capture (SLS/MWD/WL/CCTV/ROV/top side equipment/power management).

Responsible for supporting and guiding a small team of highly capable and personable engineers. Main duties related to being an information conduit/troubleshooter for the stakeholders in the project.

Initially more traditional DOE, T&D, ECD/SPP/Wellbore stability, EOSR etc. within client office in Pau, FR. More bespoke small ILT/NPT studies and analysis became incorporated, focussed on benchmarking & KPIs to drive efficiency

Started a consultancy to monitor and analyze well operations, secured contracts with Halliburton and latterly Baker Hughes (both contracts renewed). Responsible for accounts, sales, marketing, salary, proposals and taxation for the business and drilling/geological analysis services for clients. • 21 wells modelled, monitored and assessed in Qatar & the North Sea for GDF Suez using Halliburton Landmark wellplan, compass and stresscheck software to check for well control issues, correct engineering well design, tortuosity and T&D, BHA design and vibration potential, bit design & selection, hole cleaning and mud properties monitoring. Involved with all drilling engineer activities in the GDF Suez advanced drilling excellence centre’s real time operations desk. • Worked on 16 wells for Baker Hughes offshore.

My role initially focused on borehole enlargement applications and after 6 months I was promoted to the EHO drill bit and drilling dynamics product lines. I was trained across all of the downhole product lines and was responsible for engineering support, technical sales support, client presentations, running bits and BlackBox DDYN recorders on/offshore and helping to train other engineers.My roles included:• Drilling performance analysis, optimization, drill bits/tool selection for application & offshore tool running• Downhole tools failure analysis and investigation• Downhole vibrations analysis and mitigation (VibraSCOPE, BlackBox)• Formation strength computations and analysis (TerraSCOPE)Examples of performance:• The sales team and I gained all the bit consignment for Borders and Southern Petroleum and Falklands Oil and Gas for their campaign in the Falklands. • I ran the first shoe to TD run on the 12-1/4” section for Total on block 205 • I trained one sales engineer how to run the BlackBox & delivered the BlackBox presentation to the ENI team in Villa D'Agri, Italy

Engineering support for FLAIR (Fluid Logging Analysis In Real time) / CFM (Cuttings Flow Machine) product lines, involving:• Hydrocarbon profiling and correlation across pay zones, source rocks & kitchen environments using industry leading mass spectrometry equipment.• Flow Regime analysis and hole cleaning quantification for hydraulic optimisation & correlation of tight/over-gauge zones to minimise stuck pipe, drag and ecd.Examples of performance:• On each well we aided the Geologist in picking MDT formation pressure sampling points to save money• We aided the Petroleum Engineers to have a good overview of reservoir character, wetness & balance• As a result of my performance I was considered for Junior/Mid-level management in China/Egypt after being selected for the ‘Fit for Future’ seminar in Paris. When Geoservices merged with Schlumberger I was given the FE11 grade equivalent.

Engineering support for the Rig:• Data analysis for optimisation & incident prevention• Geological analysis & recommendationExamples of performance:• On the ERD Wytch Farm project I prevented serious surface losses by timely communication, trained 3 data engineers on the job and fixed the WITS/InterACT data transmission to BP, as well as salvaging a time database from the previous project. As a result I was selected for specialist training.
