- Designed and built a real time data streaming pipeline using RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, GKE and Pub/Sub- This implementation drastically improved visibility of real time business performance reducing reporting from 24 hours to < 5 mins- Liased with 3rd parties to find an optimal solution to this problem- 3rd party estimation £50k p/m whereas my solution costs $5k p/m- Implemented terraform IaaC for the new pipeline to allow easy spin up/down of cloud resources- Designed and built liability reporting in real time so that traders can have real time visibility of customer activity and spot fraudulent activity much sooner- Grew the data engineering team to 3x full time data engineers- Mentored and upskilled these new hires in a number of areas- Transitioned all reporting to Looker so that stakeholders can access their data via a self serve mechanism- Implemented a number of automated data quality checks and pipeline progress alerts via slack- Integrated data load to 3rd party regulators via APIs- Implemented CI/CD processes for the data team- I am solely responsible for all data engineering and I report directly to CTO and CEO
