Current• Created the Post-Completion Wages of Graduates Reports, reporting on wage outcomes down to the level of individual programs.• Oversaw the development of the Reports on Debt of Recent Graduates, reporting education-related debt for all levels of graduates, down to the level of individual programs.• Designed and led the development of a new web-based data warehouse of student-level data supporting the work of the Council, the legislature, and the administration. This warehouse has radically transformed the business model of the agency.• Developed a comprehensive set of data exploring and explaining the higher education needs of Southside Virginia.• Worked with legislators over the past years to craft legislation impacting higher education to ensure such bills could accomplish the goals of the patron. Such bills included the following topics:o HB886 of 2014 session requiring additional reporting that addresses adequate student preparation for college, and that secondary schools and colleges publish the links to SCHEV’s graduate outcomes data on their websites.o HB639 of the 2012 session, requiring the production and publication of data regarding the wage outcomes and student debt of recent graduates.o HB2510 of the 2011 session, the Higher Education Opportunity Act: Preparing Top Jobs for the 21st Century.o SAT/ACT score equivalents for high school GPA to allow home-schooled students to qualify for state financial aid programs.o Ensuring proper tracking of military and dependent students ensure appropriate reimbursement to institutions and accurate state planning.o Establishing the 12 Goals of the Restructured Higher Education and Administration Act.o HB 7 of the 2010 session to expand SCHEV’s duties to appropriately include analyses of workforce needs and teacher preparation and effectiveness through the sharing of individual-level data across agencies.
