At CDM Smith, Todd has served as Project Manager and Project Engineer on a variety of civil infrastructure projects across the United States. This work has involved civil infrastructure improvements and improvements to wastewater treatment processes. Locally, Todd has worked on projects for the City of Jefferson (MO) and the City of Macon (MO, which consisted of evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of improvements to their wastewater treatment plants. He has also worked on water conveyance projects for the Metropolitan Sewer District of St. Louis.

The Missouri Water Environment Association is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and improving the quality of Missouri’s water environment by providing a forum for education and the exchange of information, promoting sound environmental policy and building alliances among all persons interested in the water environment. In this role, Todd has been working towards growing educational outreach of water-related engineering to elementary through high school students.

EWB is a nonprofit humanitarian organization established to support community-driven development programs worldwide through partnerships that design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences that enrich global perspectives and create responsible leaders. Todd was involved with EWB in college and has continued that relationship with the Gateway Professional Chapter. He has traveled to Honduras to implement a water distribution system and is currently serving as the President of the St. Louis and hopes to travel to Bolivia in the future as the Gateway Chapter begins a 5-year commitment there.

The Engineers' Club of St. Louis, organized on December 2, 1868, is the third oldest engineering society in America. The Club promotes the advancement of the engineering community and assists public infrastructure agencies in the St. Louis region. Todd serves as the chair for this committee and was influential in the development of a structured nomination process for the Young Engineer of the Year Award.

Todd performed a variety of tasks while at Sherbut Carson Claxton. This included work as a land surveyor for several land development projects across the metro-east (IL) area and also worked at the West Lake landfill operated by Waste Management. He also developed plans and specifications for several civil infrastructure projects, including private businesses, subdivision's, and schools.
