Engaged at a manufacturing company as a project leader and lead technical resource. Responsible for managing the AS/400 side of a system conversion. This was a conversion to a UNIX based BaaN manufacturing package. Managed a team of 3 RPG programming resources, worked with several BaaN experts and 9 users dedicated to the conversion. Initially brought in as an analytic consultant. Quickly progressed into a senior level role. Worked in various environments with several different clients. Performed programming and analysis tasks, then moved up to technical lead and project/client management level work. Several engagements included:- At a major motorcycle manufacturer, performed project management functions for a $300,000 system enhancement. This application replaced an aging AS/400 based nonconforming (defective) material tracking system. The project team consisted of myself, 3 technical resources, an internal programmer and 15 end users from locations across the country. Multiple IBM AS/400s, RPG, COBOL, ASI manufacturing software.- At a long-term health care provider, performed project management, analysis and technical functions on various projects. Managed multiple simultaneous projects for up to 3 consultants at any given time. Projects included system enhancements that interfaced with the Software 2000 financial system and created several custom labor reporting systems. Implemented BRMS and helped create payroll interface applications.AS/400. RPGThe client decided to move their headquarters to Atlanta. Assisted in the planning and the actual move. In Atlanta I became responsible for temporarily handling the process of hiring and managing the client's programming staff. Assisted New Resources in opening a new Atlanta branch.
