An accomplished, solutions-focused International Health & Clinical Research Leader, I have two decades of experience directing clinical and health research to expand and improve the treatment of patients worldwide.With a unique background in biostatistical, clinical, and outcomes research, drug development, and business leadership, my primary focus has centered on delivering insights and opportunities to optimize value for drug developers, investors, stakeholders, and healthcare-based entities, including foundations and nonprofits. A skilled data interpreter, I have a record of designing, building and strengthening products and programs to deliver positive ROI for investments in the pharma arena.Through the years, I have built clinical research programs, secured and overseen research grants, and led work that resulted in numerous FDA approvals. My experience crosses over multiple domains, including rare diseases, nonprofit, and foundation work, directing nonclinical Phase 1-4 development and post-marketing studies across various therapeutic areas. I have contributed to a number of peer-reviewed articles (both clinical and statistical) and am the co-author of two books, Introduction to Statistics in Pharmaceutical Clinical Trials (Pharmaceutical Press, 2008) and Integrated Cardiac Safety: Assessment Methodologies for Noncardiac Drugs in Discovery, Development and Postmarketing Surveillance (Wiley, 2008). I currently serve as SVP of Clinical & Outcomes Research and Principal Investigator for the Foundation Fighting Blindness, responsible for a 25,000-participant registry and genetic testing program of individuals affected by inherited retinal disease. In addition to the SVP role, I am currently serving a four-year term as a special governmental employee for the FDA, representing the consumer perspective on the Dermatologic and Ophthalmic Drugs Advisory Committee. I am also an adjunct associate professor for Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hil, teaching graduate courses in operations research.I completed my doctoral fellowship with Bristol Myers Squibb and have been previously employed by Axio Research, Inspire Pharmaceuticals, Quintiles, IQVIA, and Novan.My therapeutic areas of expertise include cystic fibrosis, dry eye disease, glaucoma, cardiovascular, alcohol dependence, pain, hypercholesterolemia, acne vulgaris, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and inherited retinal disease.Connect with me via LinkedIn messaging.
