My thirty year professional career has provided me a wide experience in occupational training, business management, software development and creative design.I began my professional career as a commercial photographer which led me to digital media in the early 1990’s as part of the first wave of IT startups.I am one of the first users of applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark Express, and Macromedia Director in Nova Scotia. In 1995, having pioneered the development of digital media development in Nova Scotia, I joined McKenzie College in Sydney as a digital media instructor. I am a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Sydney. During my involvement in the club was engaged in dozens of fundraising campaigns and volunteer activities. In 2003, I became president of McKenzie College and worked to grow the college and update the curriculum to keep pace with the changing job market. In 2019, I assumed the roll of manager with Navigate Startup House in Sydney, NS. My roll managing Navigate allows me to apply my entrepreneurial and technical experience mentoring new start-ups.In addition to my role with Navigate, I am also president of Campaign EA, developer of election management software specifically for municipal candidates and I consult on various business projects.Presently I work with Cape Breton University, manage the Island Sandbox and consult on business, finance and social enterprise ventures.
