The term “cryotherapy” comes from the Greek word “cryo” meaning cold and the word “therapy” meaning cure. The goal of the application is to decrease cellular metabolism, increase cellular survival, decrease inflammation, decrease pain and spasm, and promote vasoconstriction (blood vessel contraction). Whole-body cold therapy was developed in Japan in 1980 and is subsequently being used all over the world as an alternative health option for chronic pain management, post surgical recovery, acute injury, general wellness, skin care & beauty, and sports recovery. I am a Co-Owner in US Cryotherapy and the Corporate Director of Operations. US Cryotherapy's first retail location opened in Roseville, CA on April 2011. We have now 5 Corporate retail locations and 18 franchise location throughout the United States. Along with our retail operations, US Cryotherapy sells directly to professional sports teams. US Cryotherapy has sold our equipment to the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Nationals, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Red Wings, Memphis Grizzlies and Detroit Pistons. As Corporate Director of Operations I oversee staff in the Operations, Marketing and Construction departments along with oversight of our Corporate and Franchise owned locations to support initiatives to grow the business. I am also the Project Manager for our Corporate and Franchise retail center projects to ensure projects are within budget and opened in a timely manner.
