Leader of Recruitment, Employee Development and Training Teams. Coordinate and participate with management in all aspects of the recruitment and selection process. Actively participate and guide the performance management of employees from succession planning to discipline. Oversee all aspects of training within Lrt, Bus, maintenance and Calgary Transit Access. Lead safety initiative programs to help support safety messaging to employees in all divisions within Calgary Transit. Using knowledge of recruitment trends and advertising platforms to work with the Manager of Employment Development to develop an advertising strategy to recruit applicants for various positions within Calgary Transit. Interpret the collective agreement, corporate policies and legislation and advise Recruitment Officers on impacts and appropriate application. • Work strategically with business partners to identify opportunities for internal and external candidates and provide advice on efficiencies outlining benefits and concerns.

Promoting Calgary Transit as an employer by coordinating and participating in hiring fairs and outreach sessions for various educational institutions and job finding organizations. Identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals. Provide day to day employee relations support assisting Training Officers and Recruitment Officers in facilitating performance improvement plans, coaching and documentation. Establish criteria and requirements for Trainees and Employees to maintain proficiency on all equipment. Managing, designing and developing all training programs for Supervisors, Operators, and Maintenance personnel in conjunction with Curriculum Designer adhering to adult learning principles.

Assist in delivery and facilitation of classroom Instruction. Delivering and overseeing the training of individuals. Supervise and monitor progress of trainee and liaise with Coordinator on potential areas of concern in both bus and LRT. Develop and implement program to ensure all components have met standards as established by the Training Unit. Assist in the recruitment process by conducting targeted selection interviews, reference checks, and attending career fairs.

Ensure the safety of passengers and customers. Adhere to the rules and regulations as established by Alberta Transportation. Provide customer service and interface with internal and external customers. Certified Class 2 Operator with Air brake “Q” endorsement. Transport Customers safely on the Light Rail Transit adhering to all rail traffic conditions. Conduct safety pre-trip checks on variety of vehicles including articulated buses and C-Trains.
