With over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, specializing in problem solving and minimizing adversity, I have always maintained an emphasis on strong and effective communications to build better partnerships. Empathy, proper communications, self-motivation and an excellent attention to detail have helped increase my ability to grow as a strong leader in various levels of management. As a director, it is my responsibility to take care of our individuals so that they have what they need to properly take care of our clients. This does not mean that I don't have to deal with direct client situations, it just means I put focus on empowering those around me to be effective in their roles. Being a natural educator at heart, I make sure to focus on growth and development within our organization to provide the necessary knowledge for others to further develop their skillsets, whether that be in technology or towards a path to leadership. I am successful if my organization is successful.No matter the industry, good relationships play a major factor in moving things forward. In this role, I try to set the example of how to treat everyone internally and externally. I have to make it clear that I am here for everyone and deliver upon those needs as they arise. Making sure that I am not a threatening presence goes a long way to help earn the trust of others, while still maintaining the proper level of my authority.Putting emphasis on fundamental principles that helped me get to where I am sets an example for others to follow. Learning from our missteps and shortcomings to better ourselves individually, and as a whole, continues to push the needle in a more positive direction at all times. Respect everyone until they no longer deserve that respect, but do whatever you can to fix those instances where you do not align with others and things seem to work out. It is so much easier to work on the success of your employees than it is to find unicorns to replace them.
