I represent the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners and Archuleta County’s elected and appointed officials, various administrative departments, and appointed advisory boards and commissions in Court and administrative proceedings and provide comprehensive legal support to the offices and departments of the Archuleta County government.

As part of my practice, I handle issues concerning environmental, natural resources and oil and gas law on behalf of La Plata County. In addition, I was the primary author of La Plata County's retail marijuana licensing code and completed a major revision of La Plata County's medical marijuana licensing code.

My practice focused on advising clients on compliance with federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations, real estate transactions and developments, as well as mergers and acquisitions. I have substantial experience performing due diligence for acquisitions, mergers and divestment of businesses, as well as advising real estate purchasers and sellers as to environmental issues relating to commercial and industrial property transfers. I have assisted clients in the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated sites (“brownfields”) through various state voluntary clean-up programs. I have also been involved in rule making proceedings before state and local rulemaking commissions and regulatory boards, such as the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission. In addition to my transactional practice, I represent clients in litigation before state and federal courts, and in enforcement proceedings brought by federal and state administrative agencies. I have represented clients in cases involving toxic torts, general torts, contract disputes, civil rights, and employment discrimination, and also defended clients in enforcement proceedings brought by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Indiana Department of Health, and EPA Regions 8 and 5.

I was a member of Davis Graham & Stubbs' Environmental Law Practice Group and my practice covered all aspects of environmental law (with a focus on the Clean Air Act), which included advising clients regarding compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations and statutes, performing due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and environmental litigation.
