About Todd Green
I am the Senior Director of Campus Partnerships at Interfaith America, a nonprofit organization that inspires, equips, and connects leaders and institutions to unlock the potential of America's religious diversity. I am also a Sponsored University Associate at the Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University. Prior to my work at Interfaith America, I served as a professor of religious studies for fourteen years at Luther College in Iowa and subsequently as the Executive Director of America Indivisible in Washington, DC. I did considerable public scholarship during my time as a professor as I consulted, communicated, and/or collaborated with government agencies, journalists, faith-based organizations, and the larger public on issues related to Islamophobia and interfaith bridge building. My views on anti-Muslim discrimination have been featured in a variety of media outlets, including CNN, NPR, The Washington Post, and Al Jazeera. My writings on Islamophobia have been cited by a variety of think tanks such as the Center for American Progress and the Southern Poverty Law Center. I am the author of two books on Islamophobia - The Fear of Islam: An Introduction to Islamophobia in the West; and Presumed Guilty: Why We Shouldn't Ask Muslims to Condemn Terrorism. One of my books was cited in an amicus curiae brief filed in the US Supreme Court by the NAACP, the National Urban League, and other civil rights organizations in Trump v. Hawaii (2018), the case pertaining to the travel ban that was imposed on select Muslim-majority countries.
