As the Community Engagement Project Manager for Community Action Partnership, I am helping conduct a 2021 Community Needs Assessment for the ten northern counties in Idaho and Asotin County in Washington. Following the assessment, I will work to build partnerships throughout our communities with the shared goal of addressing the challenges facing our under-resourced community members. Community Action Partnership seeks to do more than simply provide one-time transactional assistance to our fellow community members. We aspire to be a catalyst for transformation within our communities, helping individuals overcome poverty and attain their personal goals.

My primary responsibility as a wilderness therapy field guide is to keep our clients safe while backpacking throughout the Olympic National Park. This includes making risk assessments on trail, educating clients on wilderness safety and skills, and communicating efficiently with coworkers and headquarters staff. The wilderness is an ideal setting for personal discovery and growth, and as a field guide it is my privilege to facilitate such opportunity for our clients.

As a special education paraprofessional, I supported students in class with one-on-one and small group focus, shadowed students with special needs, and taught a Jr/Sr level geometry class. My position gave me the unique opportunity to get to know the students on an individual level, challenge them in unique ways, and see them take steps forward in their education with confidence.

As a VRC with 3 Oaks Ministries I have been privileged to manage and oversee the volunteer and religious services programs for two Idaho state prisons. I work with community volunteers and inmates to organize activities within the prison and to build successful bridges back into the community. I enjoy working closely with the volunteer community to provide resources for the facility and opportunities for pro-social change and community re-integration for the inmates. Part of my responsibilities include coordinating the training of volunteers; developing detailed tracking and reporting for chapel funds, activities, and volunteer service; and serving as the expert for the Religious Activities Oversight Committee regarding volunteer and religious activities and policy procedures. Organization and efficiency have been instrumental skills in my work as a volunteer and religious services coordinator.

Starting as a product service agent with Center Partners serving Capital One in their High Value Service and Upgrades department, I addressed inbound telephone inquiries, assessed and serviced customer needs, and turned them into upgrade sales. I quickly went on to serve the department as an On Site Escalations Agent, handling escalated calls, coaching fellow agents with written training tools, and troubleshooting customer accounts.

As a self-taught videographer, I developed my hobby into Front-Line Video Production, serving Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and the surrounding areas since 2005. During this time I developed skills in research and study, video editing and production, DVD authoring, and customer service. Many projects included basic web design and integration, which required communicating benefits-driven marketing copy, SEO content, and social media elements to the desired market.
