About Tolu Oladele

I am a health economist, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist and public health expert who currently works as Assistant Director at the National Agency for the Control of AIDS where I contribute to policy formulation and management of Nigeria’s HIV/AIDS programme and related projects. I collaborate closely with Federal Ministries of Health, Agriculture, Transport, Women Affairs and Power as part of the multisectoral coordination of Nigeria’s HIV/AIDS response. At the state level, I provide strategic direction for State Agencies for the Control of AIDS in specific technical areas including delivery of quality facility and community-based HIV/AIDS treatment services. I engage with Civil Society to ensure a client-centric HIV/AIDS program that meets the needs of the very persons the program was designed to serve. In the last seven years, I have provided technical leadership in various projects such as the World bank supported Expanding Access to HIV Testing Services for Pregnant Women, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS component of Global Fund grant Single Stream Fund Round 9, and HIV Testing Services component of Global Fund Nationally Aligned HIV/AIDS Initiative (NAHI) I am a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), a recipient of the Australian Award for Africa, and a 2020 Policy Fellow at the Duke University Centre of Policy Impact in Global Health. I have a diploma in International Health and Policy Evaluation from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands and a Master of Health Economics and Policy from the University of Adelaide, South Australia.
