- Provide strategic direction to several Omaha-based companies and business units on issues of real-estate valuation, protests and litigation matters.- Successfully represented clients before the NE Tax Equalization & Review Commission (TERC).- Actively involved in drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, preparing evidence and settlement negotiations with opposing parties.

- Elected as a Director of a publicly-owned, business managed electric utility. Based in Omaha, OPPD provides electrical power to a 13-county, 5000-square-mile service area in southeastern Nebraska.- Founded in 1946 as a public entity. As of 2011, OPPD had total operating revenues of over $1 billion dollars and serves over 350,000 residential and commercial customers.- As one of eight Directors, we provide policy oversight for the President and senior management regarding the delivery of safe and affordable electrical power. Participate in decisions concerning large capital expenditures. Provide a vital link between the utility and customers concerned about rates, environmental and safety concerns. This is not a full-time position. I attend two monthly meetings and various plant tours and weekly updates on OPPD's operation and safety concerns.

- Managed and organized over 6000 property protests as legal counsel for the Douglas County Board of Equalization and the Douglas County Assessor's Office. Argued property valuation protests before NE Tax Equalization & Review Commission ("TERC"). Advised and directed professional real-estate appraisers at meetings, depositions and administrative hearings. ---Represented Douglas County before the Nebraska Court of Appeals. Collected and analyzed business market data, property records and past transactions, photographs, complex financial information for commercial, residential, and agricultural properties.- Successfully defended Douglas County before the Civil Service Commission concerning employment discrimination, sexual harassment, privacy, and wrongful termination cases.- Reviewed and calculated state inheritance tax rates for Douglas County by reviewing various documents including wills, trust, loan, probate, financial statements, contracts, receipts and inheritance worksheets provided by private counsel. Managed ongoing collection efforts concerning fees owed to the County's services.- Conducted all forms of legal drafting and writing including contracts, settlement agreements, motions, depositions, interrogatories, briefs, interrogatories, demand letters and responses.

- Advised the Nebraska State Fire Marshal on all legal, regulatory and fiscal impact of agency plans and operations on issues of criminal, environmental, employment and administrative law.- Responsible for the drafting and implementation of rules and regulations concerning various construction and building codes, pipeline safety, flammable liquids, grain storage and pyrotechnics.- Organized working groups and meetings with industry representatives to hear concerns and solve problems with regulations and enforcement.- Drafted and promoted legislation as the Agency legislative liaison by working directly with the Unicameral and Governor's Office.- Appointed to the State of Nebraska Labor Bargaining Team for contract negotiations with union membership. (1997 to 2007)- Appointed to the Nebraska One-Call Board of Directors (1997 - 2000).
