As Training Specialist for the Facility Services responsibilities include the development of a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure Training Manual, author and develop training presentation, conduct hands on training demonstration and conduct performance qualification testing on equipment operation.

Hired as a photo lab tech based on my knowledge and experience in both photography and video production. The purpose of this newly created position at the Academy was to develop new training methods to include production of training videos. My job was to acquire the necessary equipment to become a fully functional video production facility.After being promoted to Information Director and Supervisor of the Academy's Media Center in 1992, I was responsible for supervising two Media Center personnel and provide support services to the Academy staff and serve as the executive producer of all live studio and field video productions. In conjunction with my video production responsibility my role as in Instructional Designer and Producer of online training for Law Enforcement became a major part of my job as the Information Director.My other areas of responsibilities also include:Provide and supervise services in the following areas: photography, videography, graphic arts, electronic presentations, desktop publishing, web publishing & social media, and provide internal and external support of software/computer use to the Academy staff and outside agencies as needed.Responsible for maintaining repair and programming of the telephone and voicemail system.Provide budget recommendations for purchase of audiovisual equipment needed in classrooms, for photography, video, and other equipment needed in the Media Center.Research and write specifications and justifications for equipment purchases.Instructional responsibilities: Teach three-day class on how to use PowerPoint, instruct classes on photo documentation techniques, and "the effective use of training aids" in Instructor Development classes. Teach three levels of Photography for Law Enforcement and two levels of Video Documentation for Law Enforcement and Video training production for Law Enforcement Training.

As the owner and operator of our studio I provide photographic services for family portraits, high senior portraits, wedding photography, and commercial photography.

Perform all managerial responsibilities in the operation of the Southview outdoor movie theatre as well as operate and maintain all aspects of the film projection booth as a union projectionist. Supervising as many as 15 employees, including hiring of personnel, scheduling and payroll responsibilities.

SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TO “NAVY VIDEO NEWS”: Assigned to the Navy Broadcasting Service Norfolk Detachment. Responsible for producing Navy related news stories to be used in the “Navy Video News” internal television program. Duties included researching and writing perspective stories, scheduling interviews and field locations, shooting story footage and interviews, and editing footage into finished stories. TELEVISION MOTION PICTURE SPECIALIST: Traveled the United States and to parts of Europe and Middle East producing documentary films, technical information training productions, and feature and news stories. Utilizing various 16mm motion picture cameras and broadcast grade video equipment while employing film lighting techniques, and double system sound recording. STILL PHOTOGRAPHER: Provide photographic support for base operations. Photographing damaged property and equipment, aircraft and automobiles for the base police department. Document award ceremonies and various historical events on the base and in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach area.
