Led data curation and data management branches (circa 25 people) in the Secure Research Service as part of the Administrative Data Research (ADR) programme. Lead business development and commercialisation function for UK’s largest research institute in photonics, nanoelectronics and nanotechnology. Collaborative relationship manager for top 3 UK engineering faculty – working specifically with groups in engineering sciences and acoustics. Responsible for industrial liaison, innovation support, and negotiating collaborative research projects. Key achievements included: - Negotiated several major industrial research collaborations involving complex IP issues, including major programme with a Chinese telecoms company- Established faculty IP panel to assess new inventions and identify exploitation routes. Worked with academic staff to identify valuable IP and secure funding - Received training in - “Advanced licencing skills” PraxisUnico

Responsible for developing and implementing commercial Sustainability Sector strategy, through generation of third party revenue through range of funding streams.- Responsible for sustainability sector strategy, driving over £5m of annual income (primarily environmental monitoring)- Provide annual forecasts and reporting for sector sales- Developed new market opportunities to apply NPL capability (e.g. smart grid metrology, ToFSIMS analysis for displays)- Organisation and delivery of conference in Riyadh in Q1 2011 to promote NPL capability- Trained in Serco bid methodology and bid governance
